Special Activities Division

The Special Activities Division (SAD) hosts all the activities like Gartic phone and Blooket and Jackbox games and Minecraft Murder Mystery and movie nights and Geoguessr and Chess and [insert a million other activities here]

Yeah…they do a lot. You can see all the past events here if you want. Here are some activities I wanted to take note of…

Hackentine

Every year on Valentine’s Day, the Special Activities Division hosts Hackentine - an event where Hack Clubbers can send anonymous (or not) platonic messages to other Hack Clubbers. Messages are reviewed by the Special Activities Division to make sure that they’re appropriate and sent via a DM from a bot.

AMAs (Ask-me-anything)

Every so often, Hack Club hosts an AMA with a prominent figure in the tech industry. In the past, they’ve done an AMA with Elon Musk and Daniel Roe. AMAs are listed on the past events page and also on the AMA page but they’re always a little bit out-of-date. To get up-to-date information about AMAs, join the #hidden-figures channel

Minecraft

This isn’t directly a part of the Special Activities Division, but I still count it as an activity.

Hack Club has its own Minecraft server with public farms and shops and frigging highways and a whole bunch of other sillies. You will need a Minecraft client that isn’t pirated, but there’s crossplay between Java and Bedrock (so either client will do). The server has QoL mods that prevent your inventory from despawning when you die using graves and letting admins toggle PvP and letting people lock chests.
